Temperature controls

Temar tracing systems are complemented by temperature control units and power, and control and supervision panels for the entire trace heating system.

The temperature control units offered by Temar allow either local control of the engaging or disengaging of the individual heating circuit or more sophisticated system management providing, upon request, information such as temperature values for each individual part of the system, over- or under-temperature alarms, and combined management of multiple signals. Temperature control can be carried out locally by means of both electromechanical and electronic thermostats. The thermostats are available in both waterproof versions for use in a safe area and certified for installation in zones classified as explosion or fire hazard (ATEX). In addition, all thermostats can be customised for. As an alternative to local thermostats, centralised temperature control systems are available, with the use of appropriate PT100 resistance thermometers in waterproof or ATEX-certified versions.

The trace heating system is complemented by the supply of power, control and supervision panels for both safe and ATEX certified zone installations.

Notes on operation:

  • Local electromechanical thermostats handle the trace heating directly, without the need for panel control systems.
  • PT100 probes, combined with a thermoregulator, provide a very accurate temperature reading. They can be used in complex control systems with PLC or similar.

Examples of application:

  • Room temperature control for activation/deactivation of an antifreeze trace heating system
  • Trace heating control to maintain required process temperatures.
  • Checking the cable skin temperature to prevent damage to sensitive products.
