Self-regulating heating cables

Certifications

Self-regulating heating cables are heating cables with a semi-conductive matrix consisting of a mixture of graphite powder and polymer extruded onto two varying cross-sectional area conductors, depending on the power supplied.
The latest FailSafe technology allows the heating cable to produce no power at the maximum operating temperature of the cable itself. Therefore, the maximum operating temperature of these heating cables is the same whether the cable is powered or not.
This absolutely innovative technology is an improvement over the past and is safer, as it ensures that the self-regulating heating cable does not overheat even when overlaid and the cables can be used without a control thermostat.
Temar Srl always provides thermal dispersion calculations, the type of cable to be used in each application, and the laying pitch: this basic engineering is a free service provided by Temar already during the offer stage to allow customers to assess not only the cost of the supply but also the time and therefore the costs associated with installation.

Advantages:

  • Automatically varies power outlet as the pipe temperature changes
  • Can be used in safe and explosive zones and in corrosive environments
  • Do not produce dangerous overheating or deterioration even when overlaid
  • Can be cut, terminated and spliced on site to the actual pipe length

Examples of application:

  • Pipe and tank freeze protection
  • Temperature maintenance of products inside pipes in industrial applications
  • Water antifreeze function
  • Temperature maintenance of valves, pumps and short pipes
